Emergency Response Information on Dangerous Goods Declarations/ Shipping Papers (USA: Import/ Export /Domestic)

- The United States Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety
Administration (PHMSA) announced new revised regulations, HM 206F, regarding emergency response
information required on the DG Declaration /shipping papers.
- According to the new regulation, shippers (Offerors) who made contractual arrangements for use
of an emergency response information (ERI) provider, such as Chemtrec, must provide either
the company’s name who contracted with the emergency response provider, or the
contract number.
- The information must be entered on the DG Declaration / shipping paper immediately before,
after, above or below the emergency response telephone number in a clearly visible
manner. [Unless the name is entered elsewhere on the shipping paper in a prominent, readily
identifiable, and clearly visible manner that allows the information to be easily and quickly
found].
