North America and other regions (excluding Japan) will allow use of either IMDG Amendment 35 OR 36 during year 2013, as a transitional period, however :

Effective January 1, 2013 Japan authorities mandate use of only IMDG Amendment 36 for ALL inbound and outbound cargo.

Effective January 1, 2014: IMDG Amendment 36 becomes mandatory for all regions.
