"K" Line to Upgrade the Current CSG (China Straits Gulf) Service

June 2, 2006 -Tokyo, Japan. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha , Ltd. ("K" Line) is pleased to announce their plans to upgrade and revamp the current fixed day weekly CSG .

The new CSG service which is jointly operated with PIL will increase the promptness actions towards market changes and competitiveness. Numbers and sizes of the deployed vessels will be upsized from current 6 x 1200 TEU to 5 x 2000 TEU types to improve the current transit time to Middle East .

The calling ports in new CSG and PIL's independent MEX service (which "K" Line has a slot exchange agreement with) will be revamped and expanded to include Qingdao to the current extensive PRC market coverage and Kaohsiung will offer more comprehensive and reliable service with transit time from Shanghai to Dubai shortened from current 18 to 14 days.

This new upgraded and revamped CSG and MEX services respectively are expected to commence end Jun 2006 simultaneously and the tentative port rotation are :-

1) CSG ( China Straits Gulf ) Service
Shanghai – Ningbo – Xiamen – Singapore – Port Kelang – Jebel Ali – Bandar Abbas – Karachi – Singapore – Laem Chabang – Hong Kong – Shanghai
2) MEX ( Middle East Express) Service
Qingdao – Shanghai – Kaohsiung – Hong Kong – Singapore – Port Rashid – Damman – Mundra – Port Kelang – Singapore – Pasir Gudang – Kuantan – Hong Kong – Qingdao
