Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) has today announced that it has provided free ocean transportation of two used fire engines donated by Japan Firefighters Association to Republic of El Salvador.
The free transportation this time is as per request from Ms. Martha Lidia Zelayandia, Ambassador of
El Salvador to Japan, for supporting ocean transportation of those vehicles to the country, where
the number of fire engines has long been in shortage. Assuming Honorary Consul of El Salvador since
1969, "K" Line has decided to provide its support to followed the transportation of
an ambulance and a fire engine donated from Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture in 2014

On Thursday April 16, in the cooperation of Daito Corporation, an affiliate company of "K" Line, those vehicles have been loaded onto "K" Line’s pure car carrier (PCC) at Yokohama who will arrive at the port of Acajutla, El Salvador in early May. "K" Line hopes it may contribute to the reinforcement of firefighting operations in the country.
