To help reduce the risk of introduction and spreading of pests in the country, the Ministry
of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA) has established new inspection procedures and
phytosanitary certification for packaging, media or goods containing wood to be imported or
exported by Brazil, under Normative Instruction 32/2015 on September 24, 2015.
In order to comply with the new Normative Instruction, the following data referring to any wood packaging contained in the shipment must be submitted to Brazilian Custom System for all shipments with effect from February 01, 2016. Shippers are therefore required to insert the following information in the Shipping Instructions submitted to “K” Line, with effect immediately from January 26, 2016.
