April 18, 2008 - Tokyo, Japan. Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. ("K" Line) and Wan Hai Lines Ltd (WHL) are to cooperate to enhance its already extensive intra-Asia network with the Japan-China-Vietnam Service (JCV) from early May. The fixed-day weekly service will link key ports in Japan with China, Hong Kong and Vietnam.
Ports of call on the 21 days rotation are as follows:
Tokyo – Yokohama – Shanghai – Hong Kong – Huangpu – Da Nang – Hochiminh City (Cat Lai & VICT) – Hong Kong – Shekou – Tokyo
The JCV Service is currently operated by WHL. Starting from 8th May, "K" Line will join WHL in JCV Service by replacing one of WHL’s vessels while WHL will maintain two vessels in this joint service.
The new JCV service will be operated by 3 vessels of approximately 770TEU intake. The service will also drop southbound Shekou calling and add southbound Huangpu. The changes to the current JCV service are seen as a further enhancement to each carrier’s present service network.
