November 21, 2008 - Following the announcement of November 13th, 2008, the CKYH Alliance (Cosco, "K" Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin Shipping) has announced today its further rationalization plan for the CKYH Asia/Europe services, during the traditional slack season from early December 2008 to end of March 2009.
In addition to the CNX service suspension plan already announced on November 13th, 2008, the CKYH Alliance will combine the AES and AEN services from end of November by offering a combined service called CNEU, with direct port calls at Dalian, Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Nansha, Yantian, Singapore, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Antwerp, Singapore, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
Additionally a number of sailings in both the AES2 and AES3 services are under consideration to be suspended from mid December 2008, in order to cope with the slack season. However the CKYH Alliance will modify the service network of the AES1, AES2 and AES3 services, to meet the needs of its customers by maintaining the existing port coverage and service.
On the basis of this rationalization plan the weekly CKYH capacity to North Europe during the slack season, will be reduced by around 16,000TEU or 30% of the existing capacity.
CKYH will continue providing high quality services for its customers.
